7 Wonders of Green Technology

Almost all of us have heard of the 7 wonders of the world. These are Giza Pyramid Complex, Chichen Itza, Christ the Redeemer, Colosseum, Great Wall of China, The Taj Mahal, Machi Pichu, and Petra. The following are the 7 amazing wonders of green technology:

Lilypad Project is a fantastical concept of green technology. This project aims to create a floating self sufficient ocean of eco-city islands. It will support a great deal of biodiversity and hold 50,000 residents. There will be collecting pools in the center which will filter water to be used on board.

The MagLev Wind Turbine is the green technology wonder which made it possible to take a step towards the world of wind power. It uses magnetism to escalate the friction of blades. The friction is then removed and more power is produced without utilizing any further power. This wonder can survive for centuries and power up to 750,000 homes in the future.

The Bahrain World Trade Centre consists of three large wind turbines fixed between two towers that comprise of the main building. The 80 foot turbine forms a bridge between the towers and the shape channels. It accelerates the air movement and helps in generating lots of power.

The Solar Tower works with the energy of the sun. The rays of sun are directed towards specific points of the tower and turns water into steam. This steam then runs through the turbines and generates energy.

The concept of the Urban skyscraper farms is to grow food locally. It is designed to integrate the excessive rainwater to maximize productivity and minimize the environmental impact.

The Dongtan Eco-City is a “socially, economically and culturally” sustained city. It is divided between agricultural and urban areas. This eco-city relies on its own wind, solar energy and organic farming strategies. Moreover, this eco friendly concept will provide public transportation emission free.

The Lighthouse scraper is designed to use half of the water and energy of a highly raised building. It utilizes solar energy and wind farming techniques to reduce the recovery of energy and water.
